I am now working on the app mentioned above with one of the people performing in this piece. This performance was based on a concept also conceived by this person. I co-produced the project with this person and the other artists, as the final set of the second pilot of the now established art and music festival Hidden Door. This was in Edinburgh’s Roxy Arthouse (Lady Glenorchy’s Church) in 2009. This recording was mixed by one of my collaborators in Tongues (featured as the sound on 13.11.2020). Except unofficially here, it has never been released as an audio recording but at 44 channels, it is an epic achievement in post-production. The recording is of 5 acts performing together a semi-structured improvisation from 5 stages that surrounded the 300-strong audience, enveloping them with sound coming from all sides. I was in the audience and my colleague was on stage. It was an incredible experience and it was during this performance that I decided to pursue a new app idea, the one that is now Delic.network, instead of the one I was developing at the time (a download site that sold compilations of 10 songs for £1). By the end of this performance, which marked the end of the festival weekend, people in the audience were hugging each other. This was just over 11 years ago back when people could go to live concerts, and marks the start of a creative relationship that continues now with the Delic app.
